East Japan Highway Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, NEXCO EAST) Kanto branch office and Chuo Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as NEXCO CENTRAL) Tokyo branch office and Hachioji branch office,Bon Festival [August 5 (Sat), 2017 - August 16 (Wed), 2017 12 days] We would like to inform you that we have summarized the trends and countermeasures for traffic congestion (10 km or more) that is expected to occur on Expressway in the Kanto Koshin region and Shizuoka prefecture.
Please use this traffic forecast to avoid peak traffic and adjust your departure time to help plan your trip. This forecast is based on the past traffic jam results and recent traffic conditions.However, the actual traffic congestion may differ from the forecast due to accidents and weather conditions. Please check the traffic information in.
In addition, each Expressway company provides traffic congestion forecast information and road traffic information with various tools. Please use it when using the Expressway.
1. 1. Congestion forecast
(1) Trend of traffic congestion
上下線ともに後半期間に渋滞が集中する見込みです。下り方面は8月11日（金）、12日（土）、上り方面は8月14日（月）に渋滞が集中すると予測しています。
渋滞予測を活用し、渋滞ピークを避けてご利用いただくことにより、渋滞緩和や旅行時間短縮が期待されますのでご協力をお願いいたします。
- C3東京外環自動車道で予想される渋滞回数については、三郷南ICに向かう「外回り方面」、大泉JCTに向かう「内回り方面」とし、C4首都圏中央連絡自動車道は大栄JCTに向かう「外回り方面」、茅ヶ崎JCTに向かう「内回り方面」としています。
- E50北関東自動車道で予想される渋滞回数については、水戸南ICに向かう「東行き方面」、高崎JCTに向かう「西行き方面」としています。

3. Customer Service Efforts (Countermeasures against Congestion)
We will work to strengthen our customer services, including measures to alert people to the rear end of a traffic jam, staff parking lots in the service area, install temporary toilets, and secure parking for large vehicles.

~ Requesting customers to drive safely ~
- Incidents of people being hit by Expressway are increasing rapidly
If you are forced to get out of the car due to an accident or breakdown, signal the vehicle behind you with a hazard, a smoke tube, or a triangular stop display board, and then evacuate to a safe place and call the emergency phone etc. - Driving for a long time causes an accident
If you feel drowsiness or tiredness while driving, please do not overdo it and take an early break. - Please check the car before driving to prevent troubles during driving.
- Please wear all seat belts, including the back seats
- Insert the ETC card securely
- ETCレーンは、20km/h以下に減速して進入し、ETCレーン内は徐行してください
- Please be careful of a rear-end collision at the end of a traffic jam
- For fuel and toilet, take an appropriate break as soon as possible and keep in mind to drive safely.
- There are many accidents involving motorcycles
Make sure you understand the traffic and weather conditions, keep a sufficient distance between vehicles, and drive at a safe speed.
