Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway The Nakajo Interchange (IC) to Arakawa Tonai IC (extension 9.7km) was opened on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 15:00. Prior to this, National Highway No. 113 Arakawa Road was opened on Saturday, March 21, 2009, and National Highway No. 113 Otsu Bypass was opened on Tuesday, July 14, 2009. It has become more and more convenient.
We would like to inform you that NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office, Uetsu River National Highway Office and Niigata National Highway Office have summarized the traffic conditions on the Nitto Expressway and surrounding roads.
1 Expressway usage
- One week after the opening of the Nitto Expressway (between Nakajo IC and Arakawa Wombai IC), the daily traffic volume was about 4,000 on weekdays and about 9,000 on holidays.
- In the section (between Seiro Shibata IC and Nakajo IC) that is adjacent to Nakajo IC-Arakawa wombai IC, weekday traffic volume increased by about 20% compared to the previous year.
2 Usage of surrounding roads
After opening of the Nitto Expressway (between Nakajo IC and Arakawa IC)
- The traffic volume on the parallel roads is decreasing, and it is considered that the traffic is distributed to the Expressway.
- The traffic volume on the Arakawa Road, which is the access road for the Arakawa Tonenai IC, increased about 1.4 times on weekdays and about 1.9 times on holidays.
