NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has summarized traffic congestion prediction and countermeasures due to traffic congestion during the Obon period [August 8 (Wed) to 19 (Sun): 12 days].
1 Congestion prediction and request for distributed use
- This traffic congestion forecast is based on the traffic conditions during the past Bon Festival, when the special holiday discount (upper limit of 1,000 yen in rural areas) was not applied, and this year's Golden Week period.
- The number of traffic jams during the Obon period (more than 10 km at peak) 126 times, 9 times less than 135 times last year I am predicting.
