There is a low pressure trough south of Honshu, and cold air is flowing in from above.
As cold air will remain until Wednesday, April 2nd, snow is expected to fall in the Kanto-Koshin region and Shizuoka Prefecture, mainly in mountainous areas, through Wednesday the 2nd, with some areas experiencing heavy snowfall on Tuesday the 1st.
Depending on the snowfall conditions, winter tire inspections and preventive road closures may be implemented in high-altitude areas such as Hakone and the Fuji Five Lakes area.
When heading out, please pay attention to the latest weather and road information, and when driving on snowy roads, be sure to use winter tires (all-season tires have a snowflake mark), carry chains with you and put them on early, and also allow yourself plenty of time.
