Call for applications for Technical Research Grants for Fiscal Year 2026

NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is developing various technologies to ensure that Expressway spaces can be used safely, securely, comfortably, and conveniently at all times.
We would like to inform you that we have decided to solicit and provide funding for technical research from a wide range of fields that can be used and applied to improve Expressway safety.

1. 1. Target research

Choose one of the themes below.

Research that contributes to improving the safety, reliability, and convenience of Expressway

1. Research contributing to ensuring the sustainability of Expressway projects in a declining population society
2. Research contributing to climate change response on Expressway

2. Target person

Researchers belonging to universities, colleges of technology, etc.

3. 3. Open call for participants period

From Thursday, October 1, 2026 to Friday, November 20, 2026

• Notification of grant eligibility is expected around the end of February 2027.

Four. Subsidy period

From Monday, March 1, 2027 to Tuesday, February 29, 2028 ^*

• If the research period is two years, the deadline will be February 28, 2029 (Wednesday).

Five. Grant amount

Up to 3 million yen per case ^*

• Even if the research period is two years, the total amount is up to 3 million yen
