Status of system development in preparation for review of late-night Expressway discounts

NEXCO EAST, NEXCO CENTRAL, and NEXCO WEST experienced a wide-area ETC system failure within the jurisdiction NEXCO CENTRAL on April 6, 2025, and temporarily suspended system maintenance work in preparation for the review of late-night discounts. However, following discussions at the Crisis Management Review Committee for Wide-Area ETC System Failures (Chairman: Nakamura Hideki, Professor, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University), system maintenance work has resumed, and the company is currently carefully working to create driving history information and build functions to link it to devices used to calculate rebate amounts.
We will notify you again regarding the start date of the revised late-night discount, taking into account the progress of system development, but it will be after fiscal year 2026.
After completing the construction of the data linkage function, we will continue to carefully check and verify the operation of the system to ensure that the rebate amount based on the distance traveled during the late-night discount application period is calculated correctly based on driving history information.
