NEXCO EAST Tokyo Wan Aqua-Line Expressway Management Office (Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture) and Trans-Tokyo Bay Highway Co. (Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo) are carrying out renovation work on the aging stairs, escalators, and roof of the Umihotaru Parking Area (PA) on the CA Tokyo Wan Aqua-Line Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Aqua-Line"). The work will be carried out in stages, with the construction site being switched, over a long period until the spring of 2027.
Due to construction work, the large parking area on the 1st floor of the PA (In-bound lane) and some escalators and passageways on the 3rd to 5th floors will be restricted from May 2026 to mid-August 2026.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  • The period may vary depending on the construction situation.
  • Details regarding construction and other work scheduled for August 2026 and beyond will be announced separately.

2. Scope of impact

  1. We will be restricting the use of some parking spaces in the large parking lot on the first floor (In-bound lane).
    • If the In-bound side is full, we will direct you to the large parking lot on Out-bound side.
  2. We will be relocating the bus stop and motorcycle parking area.
  3. Out-bound escalator and half of the stairs (south side) on the 3rd to 5th floors will be closed to the public all day.
    • Please use the elevator or indoor stairs.

  • If the large parking lot on In-bound lanes is full, we will direct you to the large parking lot on Out-bound lanes.
    In that case, please follow the instructions of the guides.
  • The period of usage restrictions may be changed depending on the progress of construction.

(2) The bus stop and motorcycle parking area will be relocated.

Regarding the bus stops, they will be moved (restored) from the temporary bus stops to the original bus stops starting in early May 2026.

3. Overview of the renovation work

At PA, the aging stairs, escalators and roof will be completely renovated.
The roof will have a membrane roof structure, transforming the space into one with an open feel.
