- Preventive pre-emptive traffic restrictions have been implemented at the underpass of National Route 116 Niigata West Bypass in case of heavy rain.

In response to the flooding of underpasses during the heavy rains in Chiba in August 2026, preventative traffic restrictions during heavy rains have been introduced at the National Highway 116 Niigata West Bypass Underpass (hereinafter referred to as "the Bypass"), which is managed by the Niigata National Highway Office of the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau.
Consequently, if traffic restrictions are implemented on the bypass, access to the connecting E8 Hokuriku Expressway Niigata-Nishi Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC") will be severely restricted. Only vehicles exiting from Out-bound lane (towards Maki-Gatahigashi IC) will be able to use Niigata-Nishi IC.
