- About moving ahead of the opening target of the Kita-Kanto Expressway

NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Shigejiro Yagi) is constructing the Kita-Kanto Expressway (nicknamed "Kitakan"), and we are aiming to open all lines in 2011, and we are committed to doing this. We are proceeding with this, but this time we will inform you that we have decided to accelerate the opening target.
Prospects for opening
Between the Ota Kiryu Interchange (IC) and Iwafune Junction (JCT), which are currently under construction, the embankment, tunnel, and bridge works are progressing smoothly. We will proceed with the construction towards.
(1) Between Tanuma IC and Iwafune JCT: Before Golden Week 2010 (about 2 years ahead of schedule)
(2) Between Kiryu Ota IC and Tanuma IC: Middle of 2011 (about half a year ahead of schedule)
NEXCO EAST will make further efforts to open all lines as soon as possible.
