Joban Expressway is a construction project that extends for approximately 82km over Miyagi Prefecture and Fukushima Prefecture, and when it runs all the way, it will form a double network connecting the Tohoku Expressway and the Tokyo metropolitan area.

The opening section of this time will be the first opening of the Joban Expressway in Miyagi Prefecture, and it will be the start for the opening of all lines in 2014.
