NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has summarized traffic conditions during the Obon season.

[Summary of traffic conditions]

  • The number of times of traffic congestion of 10 km or more, 105 times, 22 times more than last year (about 27% increase) Did.
  • The number of times of congestion over 30 km, 22 times, 13 times more than last year (about 144% increase) doing.
  • The biggest traffic jam that occurred during the period was 69.4km that occurred at around 4:45 on Saturday, August 13th, beginning near the Yaitakita PA on the Tohoku Expressway (Out-bound) was.
  • The year-on-year change in the average daily traffic volume of the 23 main sections is About 7% increase Did.
