NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has formulated an implementation plan for priority areas (areas where serious accidents continue to occur even after the implementation of unified measures, areas where multiple accidents have occurred at the same Expressway, and at-grade intersections) based on a report from the "Expert Committee on Measures Against Wrong-Way Driving on Expressways" established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Based on an analysis of each wrong-way driving incident and local conditions, the plan will strengthen visual measures and implement physical measures.
Regarding countermeasures

1. Nationwide standardized basic measures (arrow road markings, warning signs, arrow boards, rubber poles, colored pavement, etc.)
2. "Wrong-way Running Countermeasure Technology Catalog - Physical and Visual Measures" (Published December 20, 2024)

We will utilize these and other measures to ensure that the measures are effective and are completed by fiscal 2028.

　なお、重点対策箇所における実施計画は、関係機関協議や現地条件の精査、実道での設置状況、技術検証等を踏まえ、見直すことがあります。
