Comparison with last year (reference)

The following is a comparison of traffic congestion levels during the Golden Week period in 2025 (last year). Please note that last year's figures include congestion caused by accidents and other incidents.

1. The number of traffic jams over 10km includes the number of traffic jams over 30km.
2. The forecast for 2026 is based on data collected over a 12-day period from April 25th (Saturday) to May 6th (Wednesday), 2026.
3. The data for 2025 was compiled over a 12-day period from April 25th (Friday) to May 6th (Tuesday), 2025.

2. Key points for alleviating traffic congestion

1. Be careful of slowing down in areas where warnings are issued, such as when In-bound!
2. While driving, please avoid stepping on the brakes unnecessarily and maintain a sufficient following distance!
3. Please refrain from changing lanes during traffic jams as this may cause the congestion to worsen!

We ask for your cooperation in "wearing seat belts in all seats" and "taking frequent and early breaks." Also, on Expressway, there are warning signs for rear-end collisions at the end of traffic jams, so please drive carefully and pay attention to what is ahead. 4. Eliminate wrong-way driving -Expressway are one-way streets -

Driving the wrong way is a dangerous act that can be life-threatening. U-turns and backing up are strictly prohibited.
