About the discovery of dumped materials on the Do-O Expressway

1 Situation

Do-O Expressway in accordance with the seismic reinforcement work of Horobetsugawa bridge between Noboribetsu Muroran IC ~ Noboribetsuhigashi IC, during excavation work at the site of Horobetsugawa Iburi (right bank), wire mesh or the like has been found to be mixed in the soil.
In response to this, we investigated the circumstances and found that the wire mesh was similar to the material used to protect the slopes of Expressway. In addition, there was a history of carrying the soil that was generated due to the repair of the slopes after the opening of the road to the relevant site with the permission to occupy the river. At that time, some of the wire mesh, etc. may not have been processed and may have been mixed in, so we will take appropriate measures in cooperation with related organizations.
Since the location of the discovery was on the river site, we contacted the river manager and also reported it to the Environment Department.
