NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) Do-O Expressway The Kamishiro Tunnel (extension 939m) between Muroran Interchange (IC) and Noboribetsu Muroran IC. Our patrol traffic officer found that some of the interior plate tiles of the company had peeled off.

In order to perform the same emergency inspection of the tunnel interior plate tiles, we will close the road between Muroran IC and Noboribetsu Muroran IC (upper and lower lines) today from 20:00 on Tuesday, August 10 to 6:00 the next morning.

2 Peeling situation

At 23:15 on August 9 (Monday), inside the Jindai tunnel between the Muroran IC and Noboribetsu Muroran IC (In-bound line: Yakumo direction), a traffic control member who was patroling our company peeled off the side wall interior plate. We found 12 tiles (dimensions: 10 cm x 20 cm per tile) on the shoulder. No damage to third parties has been confirmed.

4 Cause

Currently under investigation.
