NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Branch (Sapporo City Atsubetsu-ku) was the first installment in the province in the trial installation section announced in the press release "March 2nd lane highway: About wire rope trial installation section" announced on March 1, We will inform you that the section to undertake construction has become "Dobuto Expressway Yubari IC - Shimano IC".

The actual number of construction days is planned to be 10 nights, and it will be completed in about 3 weeks in consideration of weather conditions.

Regarding the remaining installation section, the Do-O Expressway we are currently preparing for the construction work.

The wire ropes (*1) being trial installed this time were confirmed to be safe in the provisional two-lane section in a large vehicle collision test (*2) conducted on March 8, 2017, at the Tomakomai Cold Region Test Road of the Civil Engineering Research Institute for Cold Region.

  1. It replaces the rubber pole installed in the median strip of the temporary two-lane section of the Expressway, and has improved the ability to prevent the vehicle from protruding into the oncoming lane.

  1. Construction period
    Ten nights between Monday, May 22nd and Tuesday, June 6th, 2017, excluding Friday, Saturday and Sunday
    Nighttime road closures will be implemented from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning (backup days: Wednesday, June 7th and Thursday, June 8th)

    Approximately 5km between Yubari IC and Shimukappu IC Doto Expressway

    Construction work to install wire ropes in place of rubber poles and curbs to separate the inbound and outbound lanes of the temporary two-lane section
