NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Sapporo City Atsubetsu-ku) has summarized the traffic conditions of the Expressway in Hokkaido during the Obon period as follows.

- The average daily traffic volume of the main sections is 20,600 units/day.. Compared to last year About 5% increase.
- The number of traffic jams over 1km, 28 times.. Compared to last year Increased 7 times.
- The number of times of traffic congestion of 10 km or more, 5 times.. Compared to last year Increased once.
- The maximum congestion length is Monday, August 14th, around 16:30, E38 23.0km that occurred between Doto Expressway (Sapporo direction) Memuro IC (Interchange) ⇒ Tomamu IC.
- Is an alternative road measures interval Doto Expressway Shimukappu traffic volume has increased in between IC ~ Tokachishimizu IC. On Sunday, August 13th, 30,000 vehicles/day will be the largest ever between Tomamu IC and Tokachi Shimizu IC.
- The number of traffic jams between Shimukappu IC and Tokachi Shimizu IC due to the increase in traffic 10 times.. Compared to last year Increased 9 times.
