NEXCO EAST Obihiro Administration Office (Otofuke-cho, Kato-gun) will produce a bird house (birdhouse) to be installed in the parking area of Yubari Municipal Yubari Elementary School and the E38 Doto Expressway (Doto Expressway).
This production meeting was started in 2005 at a rest facility in the Tokachi area as part of social contribution activities to support education in collaboration with the NPO Feathered Friend to provide elementary school students with opportunities to enjoy nature. After that, it was widely implemented at rest facilities all over Hokkaido, and more than 3,000 birdhouses have been made all over Hokkaido so far.

Children assemble the kit, color and decorate it so that the birds like it, and make an original birdhouse.
The hives we made are scheduled to be installed at Doto Expressway Yuni Parking Area (PA) (In-bound /Sapporo area) on Friday, September 22nd.
NEXCO EAST Group positions the period from 2021 to 2025 as "a period to contribute to the achievement of SDGs and transform toward a new future society", and is conducting various initiatives.
We believe that this "Bird House Establishment Association" will contribute to SDGs 4, 15, and 17 as business activities that lead to educational support and ecosystem protection.
