NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) will be closing the E5A Sasson Expressway (Sasson Road) between Otaru Interchange (IC) and Zenibako IC (both inbound and outbound lanes), and the E5A Shiribeshi Expressway (SHIRIBESHI EXPRESSWAY) between Yoichi IC and Otaru Junction (JCT) (both inbound and outbound lanes) overnight to carry out ramp bridge construction and maintenance and repair work. If you are heading out, please allow yourself plenty of time and use detours.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and ask for your understanding and cooperation with the construction and work required to ensure safe and comfortable use of Expressway.

2. Main construction contents

• Ramp bridge construction work: At Otaru JCT, which connects the Sapporo-Otaru Expressway and SHIRIBESHI EXPRESSWAY, construction is underway on the C ramp, which runs from Otaru via the Sapporo-Otaru Expressway towards Yoichi on SHIRIBESHI EXPRESSWAY. During this road closure, construction will be carried out on the ramp bridge that will intersect with the Sapporo-Otaru Expressway.
  A multi-axle trolley will be used for the erection work, which will block the driving and passing lanes of the Sapporo-Otsuka Expressway, so road closures will be in place.

• Maintenance and repair work: Maintenance and repair work (road surface repairs, tunnel inspections, etc.) will be carried out between SHIRIBESHI EXPRESSWAY Yoichi IC and Otaru JCT. This section has only one lane in each direction, so lane restrictions are not possible, and so the road will be closed to traffic.

To minimize inconvenience to our customers, we will be closing the road on weekday nights when traffic volume is low. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
