[E38] Between Tomamu IC and Tokachi-Shimizu IC Doto Expressway
A portion of the road near Tokachi-Shimizu IC will begin operating as a four-lane road on November 7th.

We would like to inform you that NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) has been carrying out construction to widen the E38 Doto Expressway to four lanes between Tomamu Interchange (IC) and Tokachi-Shimizu IC (approximately 21 km). As part of this construction, a section (approximately 4 km) of the road will begin operating as a four-lane road from 5:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025.
With the start of this operation, the maximum speed on this section and on sections that have previously been operated with four lanes will be increased from 80km/h to 100km/h.
We will continue to work on the remaining sections, with safety as our top priority.
We would like to thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation with the long-term traffic restrictions and road closures that will be in place during the construction period.
