NEXCO東日本北海道支社（札幌市厚別区）は、E5道央自動車道（道央道）札幌南本線料金所（上り線・苫小牧方面）において、北海道警察・北海道運輸局・北海道開発局との4機関による合同取り締まりを実施しました。
本取り締まりでは、車両制限令違反、道路交通法違反および道路運送車両法違反の一斉取り締まりのほか、車輪脱落事故防止の啓発、ならびに「トラック・物流Gメン」※によるトラックドライバーへの聞き取りを、計10台に行いました。
- 「トラック・物流Gメン」とは・・・
運送業界における適正運賃の収受や労働環境の改善のため、トラックドライバー等から長時間の荷待ちや無理な運送依頼に関する情報の聞き取りを実施し、発荷主・着荷主・元請事業者等の是正指導を行う国土交通省に創設された専門部隊です。

2. Our efforts
Vehicles that exceed the maximum limits (general limits, see the diagram on the right) for weight, width, length, height, and minimum turning radius set forth in the Vehicle Restrictions Order, a government ordinance under the Road Act, are prohibited from traveling on roads in principle, and traveling on roads with vehicles that violate the Vehicle Restrictions Order may lead to road damage and deterioration, or traffic accidents (Note 1).
To prevent these incidents from threatening the safety and security of customers while driving, NEXCO EAST has organized a "Vehicle Restriction Unit" (Note 2) to regularly crack down on vehicles violating the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance. Furthermore, measures such as suspending discounts will be taken against contract holders of the "Large Volume/Frequent Use Discount System" (Note 3) who repeatedly violate the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance.

If you are forced to drive a vehicle that exceeds the maximum weight and dimensions set by the Vehicle Restrictions Ordinance, you must obtain a special vehicle passage permit from the road administrator in advance.
(Note 2)
This refers to the enforcement unit for violations of vehicle weight restrictions and other regulations, organized by NEXCO EAST. It is an organization composed of "road supervisors" designated by road administrators based on the Road Act, and has the authority to order the cessation of acts that violate vehicle weight restrictions and to stop the passage of vehicles with unsuitable loads.

This is a measure implemented by the three NEXCO companies for customers who use Expressway frequently, and by signing up for a large-volume/high-frequency discount contract, customers can receive discounts on tolls for Expressway managed by the three NEXCO companies.
-From the corps to truck drivers-
We would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation in our enforcement activities. While we have heard from drivers at enforcement sites that awareness of the Vehicle Restriction Order and the Special Vehicle Permit System is improving, we still see a certain number of violations of the law.
Violating the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance is a very dangerous act that not only damages the road but also threatens the safety of the driver. In order to realize a safe and secure Expressway, it is necessary for everyone to comply with the law even more when using Expressway.
