NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office (Taito-ku, Tokyo) has been working with Tochigi prefecture and others on the Tohoku Expressway Kamikochi Smart Interchange (IC) and Nasu Kogen Smart IC to complete full-scale IC construction. We will inform you that it has been decided to open in.
Both ICs have been installed as ICs for ETC-equipped vehicles only, and have been used as half-ICs only for the entrance to the Tokyo area (In-bound line entrance) and the exit from the Tokyo area (Out-bound exit). A new entrance to the Fukushima city area (Out-bound entrance) and an exit from the Fukushima city area (In-bound exit) will be newly installed so that it can be used in all directions.
In addition, both ICs have been limited to normal vehicles and below, but with the construction this time, it can be used for all vehicle models (however, the total length is 12 m or less), The convenience is greatly improved.
The access roads to both ICs were maintained by Tochigi Prefecture and local municipalities (Utsunomiya City and Nasu Town).
