NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office (Taito-ku, Tokyo) removes the tunnel ceiling plate (steel duct) between Joshin-Etsu Expressway (Joshinetsu Expressway) (In-bound) Sarahake Junction (JCT) and Ueda Sugadaira Interchange (IC). Due to road repairs, etc., we will carry out nighttime closures (2 nights) from 20:00 on July 9th (Tuesday) and 10th (Wednesday) on July 9th until 6:00 the next morning.

We would like to ask for your understanding and cooperation regarding night traffic.

1 Night closed sections, etc.

(1) Sections, etc.: Joshinetsu Expressway (In-bound line) between Sarahake JCT and Ueda Sugadaira IC (extension 22.1km)
[Main works] Taroyama tunnel and Gorigamine tunnel ceiling plate (steel duct) removal work, road repair work, etc.

(2) Date and time: From Tuesday, July 9, 2013, Wednesday, 10th, from 20:00 to 6:00 the next morning (10 hours)

  • In case of stormy weather, it will be postponed to the same time zone from the next day. In addition, it will be decided at night at 14:00 on the day of implementation.

2 Detour

Please use Route 18, Ueda Bypass and Route 144 as a detour.

The Joshin-Etsu Expressway Sarahae JCT-Ueda Sugadaira IC usually takes about 20 minutes, and it takes about 35 minutes if you make a detour on National Highway 18, Ueda Bypass or National Highway 144 using the Sarah IC. It will take about 15 minutes longer, so please take time to go out.

3 How to obtain traffic information

(1) Public information regarding suspension of traffic

  • We will post and distribute posters, notice signs and leaflets in the service area (SA), parking area (PA), etc.
