NEXCO EAST Mito Management Office (Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture) will be closing the E50 Higashi-Mito Road between Mito-Oarai Interchange (IC) and Hitachinaka IC at night to conduct detailed bridge inspections.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation so that you can have time when you go out.

1. Nighttime road closure period and section

From Monday, June 26th to Wednesday, June 28th, 2017
(Backup day: Thursday, June 29th) 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM each day
Higashi-Mito Road, Mito-Oarai IC to Hitachinaka IC (both inbound and outbound lanes) (4.8km)

2. Detour route guide map

When Higashi-Mito Road is closed at night between Mito-Oarai IC and Hitachinaka IC, detours will be via National Route 51 and National Route 245. The Hitachinaka Toll Road will remain open as usual.

The time required between Mito Oarai IC and Hitachinaka IC is about 5 minutes, but if you detour by the national highway route, the time required will be about 20 minutes, so please take time to go out.

3. work outline

A detailed inspection of the Shin-Nakagawa Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge located between Mito-Oarai IC and Hitachinaka IC Higashi-Mito Road, will be carried out. In addition, repairs to damaged road surfaces and sign inspections will be carried out.

In order to minimize the impact on customers, we will close the roads during the nighttime on weekdays when traffic is light and carry out work in a concentrated and efficient manner.
