(hereinafter referred to as NEXCO CENTRAL) Tokyo branch office and Hachioji branch office predicts occurrence on the highway in the Kanto Koshin region and Shizuoka prefecture during New Year's holidays [Thursday, 28th December 2017 to Thursday, January 4, 2018], traffic concentration We are pleased to announce the trends and countermeasures for traffic jams (over 10 km), and so on.

Please use this traffic forecast to avoid peak traffic and adjust your departure time to help plan your trip. This forecast is based on past traffic jams during the year-end and New Year period and recent traffic conditions, but actual traffic conditions may differ from the forecast due to accidents, weather, etc. Please check the latest traffic information.

In addition, each Expressway company provides traffic congestion forecast information and road traffic information with various tools. Please use it when using the Expressway.

1 Congestion prediction

(1) Trend of traffic congestion
Out-bound to the district December 30 (Saturday) and January 2 (Tuesday), In-bound direction has predicted that congestion on January 2 (Tuesday) is concentrated.

3 Customer Service Initiatives (Countermeasures against congestion)

  • Incidents of people being hit by Expressway are increasing rapidly
    If you have to go out of the car due to an accident or breakdown, signal the car behind you with a hazard, flaming cylinder, or triangular stop display plate, and then evacuate to a safe place and call the emergency phone etc.
  • Driving for a long time causes an accident
    If you feel drowsiness or tiredness while driving, please do not overdo it and take an early break.
