3 Construction overview

This is a repair work for the "Akaru-san" tunnel between Usui-Karuizawa IC and Saku IC (Out-bound line) on the Joshinetsu Expressway.

Since the lower part of the tunnel has been damaged and the paved road surface is being damaged this time, full-scale repair work is being carried out before the traffic is affected.

Since it took time to reinforce the lower part of the damaged tunnel body, and it was necessary to construct each lane, construction was carried out under day and night continuous lane regulations.

The invert installation work will be completed by the end of July 2018, but as of December, we are continuing to work on the restoration of the tunnel facilities that were relocated before the start of the work.

• Communication power cable ⇒ This facility is required to turn on / off road lighting.
• Water supply pipe ⇒ This facility is connected to the fire hydrant in the tunnel and is a necessary facility for fire fighting activities in case of fire.
