[E6] Joban Expressway Hitachi Chuo PA (In-bound) by local junior high school students

NEXCO EAST Mito Management Office (Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture) is working with the Hitachi City Board of Education to have local junior high school students create painting art at the Hitachi Chuo Parking Area (hereinafter referred to as "PA") (In-bound) on the E6 Joban Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Joban Expressway").
This painting art was created by local junior high school students with the theme of "What Hitachi City wants to promote" and aims to promote the attractions of Hitachi City to customers using Expressway, as well as to revitalize tourism and the local community.
Hitachi Chuo PA (In-bound lanes) installed a "walk-in gate" as a customer entrance/exit from the public road on Monday, March 10th of this year. The gate is also used as a daily shopping location for people in the surrounding area, and this time, a painting art piece will be created on the wall that serves as the entrance/exit for the walk-in gate.

1. Date and time of unveiling

   From around 12:00 on Wednesday, August 6, 2025

   • The production work will take place from 8:30 to 12:00 on August 4th (Monday) to 6th (Wednesday). (Postponed in case of rain)
     If the work schedule is postponed due to rain, the unveiling will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
