NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office (Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture) would like to inform you that it will be implementing new measures to prevent wire rope contact accidents in the provisional two-lane section of the C4 Ken-o Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Ken-O Road") from Togane Junction (hereinafter referred to as "JCT") to Mobara Kita Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC").

(1) Measures taken

「車両誘導線」の設置

　「車両誘導線」とは、暫定二車線区間において路面に設置する緑色の線で、ドライバーに走行位置を視覚的に示し、区画柵（ワイヤロープ）への接近を抑制することを目的とした路面標示です。

(2) Purpose of installation

In the provisional two-lane sections of Expressway, the installation of wire ropes is progressing to prevent vehicles from crossing into the oncoming lane, and accidents involving vehicles crossing into the oncoming lane have decreased significantly. On the other hand, a certain number of accidents involving vehicles coming into contact with the wire ropes still occur, and depending on the circumstances of these accidents, road closures may be necessary, resulting in disruptions to traffic. For this reason, we have been implementing measures such as installing reflective tape to improve visibility in order to prevent accidents involving vehicles coming into contact with the wire ropes.
As a new measure to prevent collisions, we have decided to experimentally install a green line (vehicle guidance line) slightly to the right of the center of the lane to visually indicate the vehicle's position to drivers, thereby ensuring more stable vehicle positioning.
This measure is the first of its kind for NEXCO EAST.

(3) Installation location

　圏央道　外回り　東金JCT～茂原北IC間のうち、
234kp～235kp付近（約1km）および237kp～238kp付近（約1km）の計2箇所

(4) Construction period

Scheduled for June 2026 (to be implemented with nighttime road closures)

(5) Points to note when driving

　「車両誘導線」設置区間では、右座席が緑色の線上に位置するよう走行してください。緑色の線をまたぐような走行を心掛けることで、区画柵（ワイヤロープ）への接近を防止できます。
