NEXCO EAST The Mito Management Office (Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture) is conducting inspections of the E51 Higashi-Kanto Expressway (hereinafter referred to as the “East Kanto Expressway”) in both directions between the Hokota Interchange (hereinafter “IC”) and the Ibaraki-machi Junction (hereinafter “JCT”) to conduct overpass inspections, mainline box inspections, and road maintenance work. As a result, nighttime road closures will be implemented.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding and cooperation. Please allow extra time for your travels.
1. Closed section and date and time

2. Detour

The detour will increase the travel time, so please allow plenty of time for your trip.
3. Construction overview
At the Higashi-Kanto Expressway both directions between Hokota IC and Ibaraki Town JCT, we will conduct overpass inspections, main line box inspections, and road maintenance work. The inspection and construction section is one lane per direction, and since normal lane regulations cannot carry out the work, it is necessary to close the road and carry out the work.
Therefore, to minimize inconvenience to customers, we close roads on weekday nights when traffic is low, allowing for concentrated and efficient construction. This construction is necessary to ensure safe and comfortable use of the Expressway, so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

- Posters and leaflets will be displayed at nearby toll booths and rest facilities.
- A banner will be posted on the overpass on the Expressway.
