NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) predicts that there will be no traffic jams of more than 5km due to traffic concentration on Expressway under the Niigata Regional Head Office jurisdiction during the New Year's holiday period (10 days from Friday, December 26, 2025 to Sunday, January 4, 2026).
Please note that customers planning to go skiing and other activities may be congested (less than 1km) at Yuzawa Interchange (IC) on the E17 Kan-Etsu Expressway in the morning.
In winter, traffic conditions change dramatically due to sudden changes in the weather and accidents, so please be sure to wear winter gear (winter tires and chains). Also, please check the latest road information.
1. Congestion at Yuzawa IC
During the New Year's holiday period, Yuzawa IC on the E17 Kan-Etsu Expressway may be congested in the mornings with many customers planning to go skiing, etc. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in allowing yourself plenty of time when heading out.
