NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture) has designated the period from November 10, 2026 (Tuesday) to April 15, 2027 (Thursday) as the "Snow and Ice Countermeasures Period" and will commence its snow and ice countermeasures system in preparation for the snowy season. During this period, weather and road conditions will be monitored 24 hours a day, and snow removal and de-icing work will be carried out to ensure traffic flow so that customers can use Expressway safely and securely.
Furthermore, prior to the start of the snow and ice removal season, we will hold a ceremony to mark the deployment of snowplows and an awards ceremony for outstanding snowplow operators. These events will be open to the press, so we would appreciate your coverage.

Past mobilization ceremony

1. Snowplow deployment ceremony

We will hold a ceremony to dispatch snowplows and other vehicles, as well as a safety prayer service, to pray for safe traffic on Expressway during winter and for accident-free snow and ice removal operations.

2. Excellent technician award

This award aims to motivate workers engaged in snow and ice control operations.
We recognize outstanding skilled workers who have been engaged in snow and ice control work for more than 10 years, demonstrating excellent skills and leadership that serve as a model for others without any accidents, and who have actively engaged in training younger workers and proposing improvements to work processes, among other remarkable achievements.

• Please note that the dates and locations for the snowplow deployment ceremony and the awards ceremony for outstanding skilled workers are different at the Niigata Management Office.
