About tollgate comprehensive safety measures
-The ETC lane etc. will be closed due to the construction of the safety passage at the toll booth-
NEXCO EAST 's management policy is to improve driving safety on Expressway, and we are implementing comprehensive tollgate safety measures so that customers can pass safely.
As part of this effort, we will install a safety passage to prevent accidents involving contact with toll gate staff on the ETC lane.
1 Schedule for installation of safety passage
Construction of safety passages has been started sequentially from April 2008, and we are aiming for early completion. The ETC lane will be closed during the construction work, and the most areas will be concentrated especially from autumn to winter.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers. For detailed information about the toll gates that close the ETC lane, please visit our website ( http://www.driveplaza.com/traffic/roadinfo/schedule/ ) So please use it.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
2 How to pass when ETC lane is closed
- Entrance ETC lane closed
- Time zone discounts (commuting, midnight, early morning and night) are applicable only when "equipped with an onboard device" and paid with "ETC card". If you wish to apply the discount, please contact the toll gate staff.
- Exit ETC lane closed
- Time zone discounts (commuting, late night, early morning and night) are automatically applied.
At the entrance, please pick up a toll ticket in a general lane. At the exit, stop in the general lane and hand the "passport" and "ETC card" to the toll gate staff.
Customers who used the ETC lane by wireless communication at the entrance, please stop at the general lane at the exit, take out the "ETC card" from the vehicle-mounted device and hand it to the toll gate staff.
To apply the disability discount, you will need to show your ETC card and pass ticket (if you receive a pass ticket at the entrance) and a disability certificate at the exit general lane.
3 Overview of safety passage
We will install it at about 120 toll gates for the time being so as to avoid personnel entering the ETC lane and to cross safely.
What is a safety passage?
It is a safe passage to avoid contact accidents such as toll gate staff when crossing the ETC lane. There are a roof passage system and an underground passage system.
4 Overview of maintenance of other safety equipment
- Installation of switchgear by remote control
It will be installed at all toll gates to prevent accidental entry of vehicles when the ETC lane is closed. - Installation of controls on the lane
It will be installed at all toll gates so that the lane opening / closing display boards can be switched on the toll gate island. - Improved lane display
When the ETC lane is closed, the lane markings at all toll gates will be modified to display "Closing" in order to inform customers that the ETC lane is closed. - Installation of ETC card reader
In order to minimize the crossing of the ETC lane by the toll gate staff in case of ETC trouble and to shorten the vehicle stop time, we will install a device where the customer can read the card information by inserting the ETC card in the ETC lane at the exit. - No card inserted Notice Antenna installation
We will promote the installation of an antenna in front of the toll booth in order to reduce troubles caused by not inserting the ETC card. - Maintenance of ETC lane
We will promote the expansion of ETC lanes in order to avoid the risk of congestion of vehicles by changing the route of vehicles aiming at ETC lanes because the toll plaza is narrow.
