At the NEXCO East Japan Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City), the disaster prevention office was set up in response to the earthquake that occurred around 14:46 on March 11, 2011.

Currently, we are carrying out emergency inspections by blocking roads where there was a large amount of shaking.

2 Damage situation

Currently, there is no information such as injuries on the Expressway.
The following conditions have been confirmed regarding road damage.

(1) The toll gates on the Sendai-Tobu Road the coastal areas are submerged in water.
(2) On Expressway in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures, several steps of several tens of centimeters, etc., have occurred.
