NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) will use winter tires on Expressway in order to promote early snow tire replacement and enlighten safe driving on snowy roads during the coming snowfall season. A tire installation status survey is conducted and the results are announced.
In northern Tohoku (Aomori, Akita, Iwate) and Yamagata Prefecture, about 90% of our customers wear winter tires because of the continuous snowfall. In addition, the wearing rate is the same for the entire Tohoku region as the same period last year.
It is expected that snow will fall in the entire Tohoku region in the coming winter, so please use early winter tires and drive safely when using the Expressway.
