NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) is about to use winter tires on Expressway in order to encourage early snow tire replacement and enlighten safe driving on snowy roads in the coming snow season. We will conduct a tire installation survey and announce the results.
Compared to the previous survey (conducted on November 5th), the winter tire installation rate is higher in the entire Tohoku region, but in some areas it is lower than the same period last year.
A full-scale winter is about to begin, and it is expected that snow will fall over a wide area this week, especially in the mountainous areas of the Tohoku region.Therefore, when using the Expressway, please wear early winter tires and drive safely. To do.

First snow has already been observed on the Expressway within the Tohoku Regional Head Office.
Observed on November 2 at Yamagata Expressway (near Sasaya Pass) and on November 4 at Tohoku Expressway (near Towada IC)
- Please put on early winter tires before snowfall.
Accidents caused by slipping of summer tires can lead to serious accidents, so please replace them with winter tires early. - "Please operate safely on snowy roads".
When driving on snowy roads at the beginning of the season, the feeling of safe driving on the snowy roads has not returned, so even if you have winter tires installed, you should keep a sufficient distance between cars and keep your speed down. Please do not operate and drive slowly and safely.
