NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) will use winter tires on Expressway in order to promote early snow tire replacement and enlighten safe driving on snowy roads during the coming snowfall season. A tire installation status survey is conducted and the results are announced.
In North Tohoku (Aomori, Akita, Iwate), the first snow was observed on November 18, and the winter tire installation rate is higher than the previous survey (conducted on November 12).
From now on, we will start a full-scale winter, and it is expected that snow will fall in the northeastern part of the country, the Yamagata road, and the mountainous areas of Ban-Etsu Expressway, so please use Expressway. In that case, please attach a winter tire early and drive safely.

When driving on snowy roads at the beginning of the season, the feeling of safe driving on the snowy roads has not returned, so even if you have winter tires installed, you should keep a sufficient distance between cars and keep your speed down. Please do not operate and drive slowly and safely.
