NEXCO EAST Expressway Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) is implementing a "Tohoku Expressway Out-bound line Towada interchange (IC) exit and refuel at a designated gas station (GS) outside the Expressway line, but if the customer re-enters the same IC within one hour, the fare will be the same as if the customer had driven to the original IC without exiting. The "Expressway Off-Gas Station Fueling Service (Off-Road Fueling Service) Social Experiment" will be implemented.

The social experiment is limited to ETC vehicles.

   One year from April 26 (Wed) - April 25 (Wed), 2017
2. Designated IC:

   Tohoku Expressway Out-bound Line Towada IC (In-bound Line Towada IC is not applicable)
3. Designated GS:

   Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Towada SS (Osato Kozo Co., Ltd. Towada Gas Station)

2. Implementation overview

Currently, Out-bound section from Tohoku Expressway Expressway Iwateyama Service Area (SA) (Hachimantai City) to Aomori Expressway Aomori Higashi IC (Aomori City) (approximately 160 km) and the Out-bound section from Tohoku Expressway Aomori IC (Aomori City) (approx. 140km) has no GS and is a blank section.

We have been selling petrol cans at Hanawa SA (Out-bound line) as a measure to prevent fuel exhaustion, but as a further improvement of service, we are now using GS outside of the Expressway indicate "fuel exhaustion." For the purpose of "eliminating the anxiety of" and "improving the convenience of customers", we will carry out a social experiment for a limited time only with ETC vehicles.

3． Applicable conditions (main points to note)

• This applies to customers who got Out-bound at the Towada IC for refueling and refueled at a designated GS.
• ETC vehicles only (Vehicle types do not matter, cash vehicles are not eligible).
• Since GS will check the ETC card, please contact the Towada Toll Office staff using the special intercom installed in the GS office.
• Please return to Expressway from Towada IC within 1 hour after getting off the Towada IC. Out-bound It is intended for use on the line.

1. Please contact the tollgate staff using the intercom provided.
2. Please hold your ETC card ^* over the intercom.
