NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Miyagino-ku, Sendai City), in cooperation with the Akita Prefectural Police Headquarters Traffic Department Expressway Traffic Police Unit, will conduct a road work drill on Tuesday, October 21 at the E4 Tohoku Expressway Towada Interchange ("IC") on the assumption that a vehicle is reversing on the Expressway.
The purpose of this drill is to strengthen cooperation between the Prefectural Police Highway Unit and Traffic Management Unit to provide "safe, secure, comfortable, and convenient" Expressway service to customers.

3. Training overview
The training will be conducted in a venue that recreates the atmosphere of Expressway, simulating the occurrence of a wrong-way vehicle. The training will cover a series of steps, from reporting to the relevant authorities, implementing traffic regulations, ensuring the safety of following vehicles, and responding to the wrong-way vehicle, with the Prefectural Police Highway Patrol and Traffic Management Unit working together to respond.
