NEXCO EAST Iwaki Management Office (Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture) will be closing the E6 Joban Expressway (hereinafter referred to as the "Joban Expressway") on both inbound and outbound lanes from Namie Interchange (hereinafter referred to as the "IC") to Minamisoma IC overnight to carry out pavement repair work and other works.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we ask for your understanding and cooperation in allowing yourself plenty of time when going out.

1. Closed section and date and time

1. Closed section:
   Joban Expressway, Namie IC to Minamisoma IC

   March 31st (Tuesday) - April 15th (Wednesday), 2020

   Every day from 8pm to 5am the next morning, excluding weekends

   Preparation day:

   April 16th (Thursday) - April 22nd (Wednesday), 2020

   Every day from 8pm to 5am the next morning, excluding weekends

Usage Guide

• In stormy weather, it will be postponed to the spare day.
• The decision to proceed with construction will be announced on X (formerly Twitter), etc.

2. Detour

For detours, please refer to Appendix 1 [PDF: 189KB].
Please allow plenty of time when traveling as detours will increase travel time.

3. Regarding transit adjustments due to suspension of traffic

For customers who exit Expressway due to a road closure, detour around the closed section, then re-enter and transfer in the forward direction, a "transfer adjustment" will be implemented, in which the toll will be adjusted according to the section used. (See Appendix 2 [PDF: 124KB])

How to use transit adjustment

ETC customers

• For customers using ETC, please drive wirelessly at designated outflow ICs, and also wirelessly drive at re-inflow ICs. (Transfer certificates are not issued for ETC vehicles)
• ETC time zone discount will be applied, considering the transited journey as one.
  Toll charges are adjusted at the time of billing, so they may differ from those displayed at the toll gate.
• Insert the same ETC card for all journeys and pass through the ETC lane at the tollgate.

Customers such as cash

• Customers paying with cash, etc. should receive a "transfer certificate" at the outflow designated IC, then take a "transit ticket" at the re-inflow IC, and then take the "transition certificate" at the toll booth where they pay the toll for the first time. Please hand over your ``book'' and ``traffic ticket.''

Common to ETC and cash customers

• If the road closure is lifted after exiting at an exit IC, the toll will be adjusted even if you re-enter from an IC in the road closure section in the forward direction or from an exit IC.
• Minamisoma Kashima Smart IC is only available to vehicles with ETC.

Four. Construction overview

Joban Expressway　Pavement repair work will be performed at the Namie IC to Minamisoma IC on the up and down lines. The section where this work is to be performed is a single lane, and since it is not possible to perform the work with normal lane restrictions, it will be necessary to close the section to traffic. In order to minimize inconvenience to our customers, we will close the road during the nighttime on weekdays when traffic volume is low, and will carry out the work intensively and efficiently. We ask for your understanding and cooperation as this work is necessary for the safe and comfortable use of Expressway.
