Miyagi Prefecture, Murata Town, and NEXCO EAST Sendai Management Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) have been working on improving prefectural and town roads to allow vehicles longer than 12 meters to use the Sugou Smart Interchange (IC) on the E4 Tohoku Expressway. We are pleased to announce that the vehicle length restriction will be lifted on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

7. How to use Smart Interchanges

Smart IC ETC only This is IC.
To use it, insert an ETC card into the ETC on-board unit and pass.
Be sure to stop before the opening / closing bar of the smart IC.
If the open / close bar does not open, please inform the staff via the intercom.
