NEXCO EAST Morioka Management Office (Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture) will be closing the exit and entrance ramps of the Shiwa Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC") on the E4 Tohoku Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Tohoku Expressway") at night due to roof reconstruction work at the toll booths.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but please use the interchanges before or after this location to take a detour. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in allowing extra time for your journey.

     Friday, October 16, 2020

     From 20:00 to 6:00 the next morning
   • Entrance ramp closure date:
     October 19th (Monday) to October 21st (Wednesday), 2020

     Every day from 20:00 to 6:00 the next morning

     October 22nd (Thursday) - October 23rd (Friday), 2020

The detour will increase your travel time, so please allow extra time for your journey.

3. Construction overview

Tohoku Expressway　We will be conducting renovation work on the roof of the Shiwa Toll Plaza at both the exit and entrance lanes. Since there are only two lanes each at the exit and entrance of the toll plaza, and the work cannot be carried out under the usual single-lane traffic control, we will need to close the exit and entrance ramps at the Shiwa Interchange to perform the work.
Therefore, to minimize inconvenience to our customers, we will close the ramps during weekday nights when traffic volume is low, allowing us to carry out the construction work intensively and efficiently. This work is necessary to ensure you can use the Expressway safely and comfortably, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
