1 Implementation of earthquake recovery work and lane regulation

Hokuriku Expressway Kakizaki IC-Nagaoka JCT was damaged by the Niigata Chuetsu-oki Earthquake. Currently, we are securing road traffic while controlling lanes through emergency restoration work. It is expected that it will take about one and a half years to complete the full-scale restoration. Since this restoration work will require lane regulation in the future, we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

  • Compliance with speed regulation

For lane-restricted sections, follow the speed regulation and drive safely.

  • Congestion due to traffic concentration

Between Kashiwazaki IC and Nagaoka JCT, there is traffic congestion on the In-bound line (Kanazawa area) in the morning and on the Out-bound line (Niigata area) from evening to night. If you plan to drive in this section, please plan in good time.

  • Temporary cancellation of lane restrictions during the period of heavy traffic during the old Bon period

During the traffic period during the old Bon period (Saturday, August 11th to Monday, August 20th), we will temporarily maintain four lanes while restricting the speed to 50 km/h. (However, if urgent construction is required, lane restrictions may be applied in some sections.)

From Tuesday, August 21, lane restrictions will be enforced again for full-scale restoration work.

2 Toll free measures have ended

Measures to avoid detours on National Highway No. 8 and toll-free measures implemented to alleviate traffic congestion in Kashiwazaki City ended on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 20:00.

  • Vehicles that flow into each IC in the toll-free section before 20:00 on Saturday, August 11th will receive the toll-free measure even if they flow out to each IC in the toll-free section after 20:00. (Example: Applying from Yoneyama IC before 20:00 and leaving Nagaoka IC after 20:00)

3 Kashiwazaki IC outflow restrictions have been lifted

The restrictions on the outflow of general vehicles on the Hokuriku Expressway Kashiwazaki IC, which were implemented to avoid traffic congestion in Kashiwazaki City, were lifted at 20:00 on Saturday, August 11, 2007.
