NEXCO EAST, NEXCO CENTRAL, and NEXCO WEST (hereinafter referred to as the "Three NEXCO Companies") are pleased to announce that they have selected 19 technologies for on-site verification from the 21 proposed technologies submitted in response to the press release titled "Opening of a public call for proposals for new wrong-way driving prevention technologies on Expressway"on December 20, 2024.
METI will begin testing the technologies selected for on-site verification in the fall of 2025 after going through procedures and other processes with the companies and other entities that proposed the selected technologies, aiming to commercialize the technologies from around the end of FY2026.

    Technology to detect wrong-way vehicles using existing road management equipment (CCTV cameras)

    Technology that warns wrong-way and forward-driving vehicles based on information on detected wrong-way vehicles
A technology that allows vehicles to recognize (detect) their own wrong-way driving and provide that information to alert other vehicles driving the wrong way.
