Please be advised that NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) will carry out road closures due to snow removal in the following sections for 8 nights from today.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

3 Reasons for implementing traffic closures
Due to continuous snowfall on and after January 6, a large amount of snow has accumulated on the shoulders of Expressway the continuous bridge section of Sapporo city. (The snowfall situation is Attachment [PDF: 75KB] reference)
Due to further snowfall in the future, the accumulated snow may not fit on the shoulders of the main line, which may hinder smooth traffic.
Therefore, the traffic is closed at night when traffic is light, and the snow is removed intensively.
