NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) will be available at service areas (SA), parking areas (PA), and interchanges (IC) on all roads during the winter traffic safety campaign period (November 11-20). , We will carry out a traffic safety campaign jointly with the Hokkaido police and local campaign girls.
On Thursday, November 14th, at Wattsu PA (In-bound line, Tomakomai area) on the Hokkaido Expressway, we will set up a booth to check the wear level of winter tires and ignite an emergency safety flare (flare) for automobiles.

2 Request for traffic safety
(1) Install winter tires according to the road surface conditions!
Road surface conditions may change due to weather conditions such as day and night temperature differences and snowfall. Please change to winter tires and slow down according to the road surface conditions in preparation for full-scale winter.
(2) Sudden steering, sudden acceleration, and sudden braking on winter roads are strictly prohibited!
From November to April, the rate of accidents caused by steering wheel / brake operation mistakes will increase by about 4.9 times compared to May to October.
Winter Expressway in particular, can lead to accidents even with small driving mistakes.
Please refrain from "sudden" operations such as "sudden steering wheel", "sudden acceleration", and "sudden braking", and drive carefully.
(3) Check weather information and road information before going out!
Winter weather is volatile. Check the weather forecast frequently not only on the day you go out, but also a few days in advance.
