NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) is located on the Expressway in Hokkaido during the year-end and New Year period (Tuesday, December 28, 3rd year to Tuesday, January 4th, 4th year of Rewa). We will inform you that we have summarized the traffic conditions.

- The average daily traffic volume during the period was 6,100 vehicles, a decrease of 78% from the year before last (up to 139% from the previous year).
- The number of traffic jams over 1km is 11 times, +3 times compared to the year before last (+8 times compared to last year).
- The longest traffic jam occurred at around 16:10 on January 3 (Monday) at the E5 Hokkaido Expressway Chitose Eniwa Junction (JCT) → Kitahiroshima Interchange (IC) (Out-bound / Sapporo area) due to poor visibility due to bad weather. 7.4km
- From December 31st (Friday) to January 1st (Saturday) and due to the influence of snow on January 3rd (Monday), the amount of closed roads has tripled from last year.
