East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. (hereinafter NEXCO EAST) Kanto Regional Head Office and Central Japan Expressway Co., Ltd. (hereinafter NEXCO CENTRAL) Tokyo Regional Head Office and Hachioji Regional Head Office are Year-end and New Year period [8 days from Wednesday, December 28, 2016 to Wednesday, January 4, 2017] We would like to inform you that we have summarized the trends and countermeasures for traffic congestion (10 km or more) that is expected to occur on Expressway in the Kanto Koshin region and Shizuoka prefecture.

Please use this traffic forecast to avoid peak traffic and adjust your departure time to help plan your trip. This forecast is based on past traffic jams during the year-end and New Year period and recent traffic conditions, but actual traffic conditions may differ from the forecast due to accidents, weather, etc. Please check the latest traffic information.

In addition, each Expressway company provides traffic congestion forecast information and road traffic information with various tools. Please use it when using the Expressway.

1 Congestion prediction

(1) Trend of traffic congestion
Out-bound direction is expected to cause heavy traffic congestion on December 30th (Friday) and January 2nd (Monday), and In-bound direction to January 2nd (Monday) and 3rd (Tuesday) doing.
