Nagano Construction Office
NEXCO EAST Nagano Construction Office (Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture) will be holding the "Furakuishi" Joshin-Etsu Expressway Event as part of its test-taking support campaign, which is currently being held at the Yokokawa Service Area (hereinafter "SA") on the E18 Joshinetsu Expressway (hereinafter "Joshinetsu Expressway"), to coincide with the announcement of exam results and the cherry blossom viewing season.
What is the "Non-Rock" project?
This project uses andesite that "did not fall" during the Kitanomaki rock block excavation work on the Joshinetsu Expressway (see attached document [PDF: 448KB]), and will distribute free charms made with the hope that people will "not fail" their exams.
This project is a collaboration between Yokokawa SA and 11 junior and senior high schools in Nagano and Gunma prefectures.

(4) Event details
① Special exhibition of "Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom" message boards
This project, which began in November last year, has reached full bloom with cherry blossom petal-shaped message cards written by visitors, filling up the board. The contrast between the rugged "Fuorokuishi" (unbreakable rocks) born from the infrastructure construction site and the thousands of gorgeous "cherry blossom messages" makes it a special photo spot only available during this time of year.
②「不落石」お守り 最終配布
As part of a project to support those who have successfully passed the exams and take on the next challenge in their new lives, we will be distributing "Fu-Rock" amulets while supplies last.
3. Cherry Blossom Board Photo Sharing Campaign (Yokokawa SA Small Gift)
Send (or share) a photo of the cherry blossom board to a friend via social media and present it at the information counter to receive a Yokokawa SA mini gift (first 600 people).
