NEXCO EAST Mito Management Office (Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture) will be carrying out Expressway renewal work on the Miyatagawa Bridge, located on the E6 Joban Expressway (between Hitachi Chuo IC and Hitachi Kita IC). Please note that the number of lanes will be reduced due to all-day traffic restrictions caused by the construction.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we ask for your cooperation in observing the speed limit and driving safely within the restricted area.
Expressway renewal work is necessary to ensure the safe and comfortable use of Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation during the construction.

In addition, we will implement high-performance deck waterproofing to prevent further deterioration of the deck slabs.

Five. Request when passing special vehicles

Due to the restrictions imposed by this construction work, special vehicles exceeding 3.0m in width will not be able to pass. Customers are requested to use alternative routes such as surrounding roads.
Also, please note that if you have obtained a special vehicle permit (*) only for Expressway routes, you will also need to obtain a permit for general roads.

  • What is a special vehicle traffic permit?
This refers to the permit required for special vehicles that exceed general limits (length, weight, width, etc.) to travel on public roads, based on the Road Act and the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance.

6. Request when using

  1. Traffic congestion is expected to begin at construction sites on some dates in the affected areas, so please allow extra time for your journey.
  2. Because the shoulder of the road is narrow, please observe the speed limit, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and take sufficient precautions to avoid rear-end collisions.
  3. Please be aware that construction vehicles will be entering and exiting the area surrounding the construction site, so please be mindful of what is ahead.
  4. During the construction period, we will be providing information on traffic congestion and construction restrictions using LED information boards, road information boards, and road signs, as well as issuing warnings to ensure safe passage. Please check this information before traveling and ensure safe passage.
