About tollgate comprehensive safety measures

NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Niigata Nishi-ku, Regional Head Office length: Yoshio Shiraishi), the Expressway for safety improvements, is promoting the tollgate General safety measures, as part of such efforts, cross the toll booth clerk or the like in the ETC lane We will install a safety underground passage to prevent contact accidents.

In this construction, in order to install a safe underground passage, each lane including the ETC lane will be closed at the toll booth in sequence, day and night.

The applicable toll gates are as follows, and construction will begin on July 28 at the Kan-Etsu Expressway Yuzawa Toll Gate, and will be carried out sequentially. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you during the construction. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

We will inform you again about the closing period of ETC lane at each tollgate due to this construction.

Overall construction period

From July 28, 2008 to the end of March 2009

  • Construction will be suspended during traffic congestion (Obon and New Year holidays). (There is no closing of each lane at the toll gate.)
  • During the construction period, the ETC lane will be closed, Period during which ETC driving is not available at the toll booth there is.
    In addition, there are periods when vehicles with a width of more than 2.5 m (specially licensed vehicles) cannot flow in or out.

Request to customers using ETC

  1. It is very troublesome when the entrance ETC lane is closed at the target toll gate, but since ETC running is not available, you can use it with a pass ticket on the general lane.
  2. At the exit toll booth, if you pass the ticket and the ETC card you are using on a general lane, the toll will be paid using the ETC card. (Of course, you can pay with cash or other credit cards.)
  3. At this time, points added by mileage registration will be added the same as when running ETC.
  4. Regarding various ETC time zone discounts, You must apply to a toll booth staff at the exit toll booth Please note that.

How to use when ETC lane is closed

At the entrance toll booth, be sure to stop in a general lane and receive a pass. Also, at the exit toll booth, stop in a general lane and hand the ticket and ETC card to the toll booth staff.

For ETC midnight discount and commuting discount, the tollgate staff will handle the discount processing at the exit tollgate. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we kindly ask you to let us know that the ETC lane was not available at the exit toll gate.

If you cannot apply at the exit toll booth, please contact NEXCO EAST Customer Center.

 Please note that if you do not request, the ETC midnight discount and commuting discount will not be applied.

[When the exit ETC lane is closed]
At the exit toll booth, be sure to stop in a regular lane and hand your ETC card to the toll booth staff. The ETC midnight discount and commuting discount are automatically applied when you use the ETC lane at the entrance for ETC driving and meet the discount conditions. (There is no need to request at the exit toll gate.)
